Growing up neither of my parents were particularly political, but when it came to my mother and even to some degree my father they tended to vote Republican or at least seemed to support them, and I know what the reason was. It was because for the most part Republicans represent themselves as being Christians and Republicans tend to vote against abortion. While I am a "Right To Lifer" the more I have learned about politics the more I came to realize that abortion is already legal in the U.S. and the Republicans have not ratified that particular issue, so in reality what are they actually doing to prevent abortion and the answer is very little because statisticly speaking the vast majority of women who will get an abortion do it as soon as they find out they are pregnant. Not many women make it past three months and then think they should have gotten an abortion. This means that voting against expanding abortion is mostly a non-consequencial. So what's next That's right, good ole "Christian Values" Well given their track record of some of these people who really sell themselves as Christian I KNOW their values are NOT Christian. So that's out the door. The last thing is that Republicans are conservative and try to keep government and their powers small. Well the idea of this is LAUGHABLE at least in the last twenty years. If you don't believe me then look at Republican voting records and compair them to the Democrats. They are almost identical! In conclusion there is no difference! The only difference is the way they sell themselves to you. Check out Lewis Black's take on them | |
